Cats are cool, standoffish, often solitary creatures, preferring to do their own thing – when they feel like it. Dan loved cats.  Shortly after Dan turned 90, a fiery “I can manage” Englishwoman caught his eye in his creative writing class. She behaved very much like a cat.
